Yes! In fact, an APR dealer will give you a free trial tune to demo it out. Is it as incredible as everyone says it is? I'd recommend keeping it safe, but I honestly drove on my stock coils for over 1K miles and everything was fine I just switched mine out for peace of mind and left the old ones in the hatch "just in case". Some people don't switch them out, even on a highly modded car, and they're fine, but for others they die nearly instantly after being tuned. I'd recommend switching out your coil packs to the red Audi R8 ones, as they're known to fail & no one reports any issues once switching out to these. But when cruising on the highway, MPG is amazing.ĪPR is a really trustable company the reason I went with them on my GTI is they definitely seem to be the most respected tuning company. But as you're car will be ~70hp faster, you may give it a bit more wasting more gas. When I first tuned, I say it's a nice 3-5mpg difference (which is expected). I'd definitely wait to get a tune until the dealer you want to use has this capability. Now that APR released their direct port flashing, you don't have to worry about this as the ECUs do not need to be opened anymore. Luckily, this was most likely caused by the ECUs needing to be stripped only. The tunes themselves don't have any issues, but there have been issues with the ECU frying after (the radiator fan usually remains on when this starts happening). Some of this may already be answered, but here's my take:
